FRACTURE Back to the game

Privacy policy

Last updated 13 October 2026

In short. You can play Fracture alone without an account and without anything leaving your browser. Everything beyond that is optional: anonymous statistics (off until you switch them on), a Google sign-in to keep your games across devices, and online multiplayer. We do not sell your data, we do not run advertising, and we do not use analytics or tracking cookies.

Who this is for

This policy covers the Fracture game and its website (the page you are on, the game at /play/, and the servers behind them), run by the Fracture team ("we"). It describes what the game collects, why, who else sees it, how long it is kept, and how you can have it removed.

Playing alone

A single-player campaign runs entirely in your browser. Your saved games, settings (such as the map mode you last used) and any in-game choices are kept in your browser's own storage on your device. We do not receive them. Clearing your browser's site data erases them. The game also installs a small service worker so it can start without a network; it holds copies of the game's own files, not your data.

What we collect, and when

WhatWhenWhyKept
Anonymous campaign statistics: numbers and fixed categories describing how a campaign went (length, outcome, score and the like). No name, account, e-mail or free text. Only if you switch it on. The default is off. To balance the game. Up to 180 days, then deleted. Switching it off erases what was sent under your install id.
A random install id that links those statistics together. It is generated on your device and contains nothing about you. Only with the statistics above. So that you can ask for them to be erased. Until you turn statistics off or clear it.
Account details: the Google account id, e-mail address (lower-cased), name and profile picture address Google gives us, a sign-in session, and, if you choose to set one, a password (stored only as a salted scrypt hash, never in the clear). Only if you sign in with Google. To recognise you and to keep your games across devices. Until you delete the account. A session ends 90 days after its last use.
Your online Library: the saved games you choose to keep online, with their titles, and the list of multiplayer seats you hold. Only if you are signed in and sync a game. To let you resume them on another device. Until you delete the game or the account.
Multiplayer rooms: the room's name, the countries taken, a hashed key for each seat, and the state of the game, including anything players do or send inside it. Only if you create or join an online room or public world. To run the game for everyone in it. A room that nobody uses is cleared after about 30 days.

We do not store IP addresses in our databases or logs of statistics. Like any web service, the host and the network in front of it see the address of each request while they handle it, and may keep short-lived operational logs for security and to keep the service running. Sign-in attempts are limited by address, which is held briefly in memory for that purpose. We use all of this only to run and protect the service.

Cookies and tracking

Fracture does not set cookies and does not use advertising, analytics or fingerprinting services. It uses your browser's local storage for the things described above.

Who else is involved

We do not sell personal information and do not share it for advertising.

Your choices

Security

Connections to the site are encrypted. Passwords and seat keys are stored only as one-way hashes, sign-in tokens are checked against Google's published keys, and the number of sign-in attempts is limited. No system is perfectly secure, so we keep to what is needed and delete what we no longer need.

Children

Fracture is not aimed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has made an account, tell us and we will remove it.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and if the change is significant we will say so in the game or on the home page.
